Privacy notice

How we collect, use and protect your personal information, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Last updated 21 October 2026

Who we are

LiteWork Services is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we’re responsible for looking after it.

What we collect

When you request a quote or book a clean

Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), postcode and address, the type of clean and property, how often you want cleaning, your preferred dates, whether you’d like us to bring products or equipment, any extras, whether parking is available, and anything you tell us about your home, such as pets, children at home, someone working from home, keys, lockboxes, alarm details, fragile items or rooms to leave out.

Allergies and sensitivities

If you tell us that someone in your home has an allergy or sensitivity to cleaning products, this is health information, which the law treats as special category data. We only use it to choose suitable products and methods for your cleans, we share it only with the cleaner assigned to you, and we ask for your explicit consent before relying on it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

When you apply to work with us as a self-employed cleaner

Your name, email address, phone number, postcode, cleaning experience, whether you have the right to work in the UK, whether you are self-employed and insured, and the areas you cover. If we agree to work together, we’ll also collect what we need to engage you as a contractor, such as identity and right-to-work documents, references, a DBS check, your Unique Taxpayer Reference, insurance details and bank details for payment. We’ll tell you more about this at that stage.

When you cancel or complain

The details you give us on the cancellation form, in a complaint, or in any email, call or message.

When you visit the website

Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type so it can deliver the pages. We don’t use analytics or tracking.

How we use it and our legal basis

We don’t send marketing unless you ask us to, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t make decisions about you using automated processing.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with organisations that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the police.

International transfers

Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the protections UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Keeping it safe

We keep personal information in password-protected accounts with access limited to people who need it. Keys are labelled with a reference code, never your name or address, and stored securely.

Cookies

This website doesn’t set any cookies, and we don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, so there’s nothing to accept or decline. Our fonts and photographs load from Google Fonts and Unsplash, which receive your IP address as described above.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Email info@liteworkservices.co.uk to use any of these rights. We’ll respond within one month, and it’s free.

How to complain about how we use your data

You have the right to complain to us about how we’ve handled your personal information. Email info@liteworkservices.co.uk or contact us any other way. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, keep you updated and tell you the outcome. Our complaints procedure explains the steps.

If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this notice if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
